Born From Farmers’ Families, Deputy Minister Sudaryono Wins Mahaputra Pratama Star
JAKARTA Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono received the honorary sign of Bintang Mahaputra Pratama directly from President Prabowo Subianto at the Awarding Ceremony of the Honorary Sign of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, August 25.
This award is given as a form of appreciation for his services in strengthening national food security. During his tenure, the man who is familiarly called Mas Dar was considered successful in expanding farmers’ access to fertilizers and production facilities, as well as encouraging various policies that favor farmers.
“I was born to a farmer’s family. I dedicate this award to Indonesian farmers who never stop working hard to feed the nation,” he said in an official statement.
According to him, the sign of honor is a new spirit to continue to move more firmly in realizing Indonesia’s vision as an independent, sovereign, and prosperous nation through the agricultural sector.
This graduate of the National Defense Academy (NDA) of Japan also emphasized his commitment to strengthening strategic food priority programs, agricultural modernization, and the development of young farmers.
“This is not just an award. But it is an encouragement for us to continue to make our best efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency and the welfare of farmers,” he concluded.
The same agenda, the leader of Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman also received the Mahaputra Adipurna Star award from the president for his services in advancing the national agricultural sector through food self-sufficiency programs, subsidies for tools and seeds for farmers, as well as controlling strategic imports.
Amran said the award was a form of appreciation for the real contribution of agricultural people in maintaining food security, increasing strategic food production, and fighting for the interests of farmers throughout Indonesia.
